Import pork can not meet domestic demand
Import pork will exceed 1 million tons this year, which breaks the record 0.91 million tons in 2008. China is a large meat consuming country, especially pork is popular. In 2010, Chinese meat production reached 79.25 million tons totally, in which pork was 50.7 million tons. Immense market and high price is driving foreign pork entering China. However, analysts of BOABC believe import pork can not meet domestic demand.The trade volume of pork in global market is more than 6 million tons, while China consumes 50 million tons.
